Dievole was established in the 1980s in the hills of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the province of Siena, and is one of the six wineries belonging to the Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards (ABFV) Italia group.

The name comes from the village in which it stands, a small “paradise on earth” dating back to 1090 that has always been home to vineyards and produces elegant, authentic wines. According to some documents dating back to that period, in fact, the vineyard located in the “divine valley” (Dievole) was rented for one year at the price of two chickens, three loaves of bread and six silver Lucchese coins.

Since then the name “Dievole” has been represented by three different labels: one in 1985 marked by a black and white herald, a golden one in the 90s  representing the winery’s vineyards, and one in 2013 underlining the birth of a new company philosophy, based on the uniqueness of its terroir, quality and sustainability.

Today, the winery’s vineyards extend for over 158 hectares approximately , located at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level and divided into sixteen parcels, which differ in terms of subsoil composition, microclimate and exposure.

The varieties cultivated are Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Trebbiano and Malvasia del Chianti.

The grapes are carefully selected, left to macerate naturally in rough cement tulips and aged in French oak barrels, in order to guarantee the freshness, harmony and balance that have always characterised the wines of Cantina Dievole.
