Villa I Cipressi
Villa i Cipressi farm was born in the mid 1970s near Montalcino when Hubert Ciacci expanded his father’s small beekeeping business. In the mid-1990s, he bought more land and began planting vineyards and olive groves. In 2000, he began producing Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.
The vineyard land, divided into two plots, is about 3 and a half hectares and has a southern exposure with good sunshine that facilitates a perfect maturation of the grapes. One vineyard is at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level with a sandy loamy soil, which gives the grapes great structure and volume and a high alcoholic content. The other vineyard is located at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level with a soil that tends to be calcareous but with a small presence of clay, which makes the grapes particularly fragrant and aromatic with a significant acidity.
The winery is family-run, and in respect of the environment and nature has completely abandoned the cultivation of synthetic chemicals and a few years ago officially entered the organic regime. The grapes are harvested by hand, selected before pressing, left to macerate in steel tanks or in a solution that includes a first part in French oak barriques and a final part in oak casks, and finally refined for a period of no less than six months.
Among Villa Cipresso’s products of excellence are the Brunello Montalcino Zebras and the Brunello di Montalcino di Annata.
