Tenuta di Biserno

Tenuta di Biserno is located in the municipality of Bibbona, in the Alta Maremma, on the northern border with the historic village of Bolgheri. The estate covers about 40 hectares at 90 meters of altitude, a territory suited to growing international varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

The project began in 2001 with brothers Lodovico and Piero Antinori, along with their nephew Niccolò Marzichi Lenzi and partner Umberto Mannoni. Lodovico Antinori, one of the founding fathers of Bolgheri as a major wine territory and creator of Ornellaia and Masseto, today holds the role of honorary president of the estate, while operational leadership is entrusted to Niccolò Marzichi Lenzi.

The range centers on two main labels, Biserno and Pino di Biserno, both different expressions of the same blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, with styles shaped by differing sea influence and plot exposure. Biserno is the estate's most structured and best-known label.

Yes: the project and Lodovico Antinori were featured on the cover of Wine Spectator in October 2016, a rare honor for an Italian producer. Biserno is considered one of the most highly regarded Italian labels in international rankings, confirming the Antinori family's prestige beyond Bolgheri as well.
