Sesti ''Castello di Argiano''

Sesti is located at Castello di Argiano, a 13th-century fortification of Etruscan origin, in Montalcino. Giuseppe Sesti discovered the castle in ruins while visiting the area with his English wife Sarah, deciding to buy it in 1975.

Giuseppe Sesti, of Venetian origin, is by training an astronomer, as well as a music and art enthusiast. In his early years in Montalcino he worked as a translator for local producers during business meetings, being among the few who spoke good English, developing along the way a growing interest in Brunello. He planted his own vineyards in 1991.

The winery follows biodynamic principles, with Giuseppe Sesti's study of astronomy and lunar cycles influencing both vineyard practices and vinification. The Brunello ages in large Slavonian oak casks, to preserve the purity of the Sangiovese.
