The story begins with Umberto Salvioni, an agronomist who made wine for friends. His son Giulio, with his wife Mirella, turned the business into a winery producing small quantities of exceptional wines, with the first La Cerbaiola Brunello dated 1985. Today his son David oversees production, joined by his sister Alessia for marketing and administration.
What style of Brunello does the Salvioni winery produce?
Giulio Salvioni is a firm believer in pure Sangiovese and large casks, particularly Slavonian oak, favoring tradition. Production, between 10,000 and 15,000 bottles a year, does not include a Riserva version.
