The Corte dei Venti Winery was founded in the 1980s, although its production history began many years earlier.
In 1943 the Pieri family bought the Piancornello estate and began cultivating the vineyards and olive groves from which they now produce the excellent products that make them popular throughout Italy.
The name Corte dei Venti derives from its position and from the microclimate that characterises the area east of Montalcino where it is located. Here, in fact, the winds blow frequently and create the ideal conditions for optimal growth and ripening of the grapes.
The vineyards extend for over five hectares, have a soil rich in minerals and clay, are well sunlit and are cultivated with Sangiovese Grosso. The wines produced are Brunello di Montalcino (vintage or Riserva), Rosso di Montalcino and some Tuscan IGT red wines.
Harvesting is carried out in full respect of nature, as is the processing in the cellar, which is carried out at a controlled temperature. The fermentation process is carried out in stainless steel tanks, while the wine is aged in Slavonian and French oak barrels.
The excellent wines of the “Corte dei Venti” winery include Brunello di Montalcino (vintage or Riserva) and Rosso di Montalcino.
