Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Fattoria del Cerro located and in which appellation does it produce?

Fattoria del Cerro is located in Acquaviva, near Montepulciano, with a 600-hectare estate of which 181 are under vine, 93 registered for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano: the largest private producer in the whole appellation.

Who founded Fattoria del Cerro? What group does it belong to?

Its origins go back to 1922, thanks to the Baiocchi family's passion. In 1978 the property became part of Tenute del Cerro, a group that the same year also acquired La Poderina in Montalcino, later expanding with other estates in Umbria and Tuscany for a total of nearly 5,000 hectares owned.

Can you visit Fattoria del Cerro? Do they offer tastings?

Yes, the visit includes a guided cellar tour with a brief history of the estate and a tasting of four wines at the villa, paired with cured meats, local pecorino cheese and estate-produced extra virgin olive oil.
