Fattoi
Fattoi Winery is located on the south-west side of Montalcino and is one of the oldest wineries in the area.
Founded in the 1960s by Ofelio Fattoi, the first vineyards were planted in 1972, while the first production of Brunello di Montalcino dates back to 1979. Today the company is run by Leonardo, Lamberto and Lucia, Ofelio’s sons and grandson , who continue to carry on with the same passion and love for the land the company that has been able to conquer the national and international wine market (in particular the United States and Sweden, which are worth about half of the company’s wine production).
The vineyards extend over ten hectares on the south-west side of Ilcinese and enjoy a microclimate, exposure and subsoil composition that are perfect for ensuring the correct ripening of the grapes.
The varieties cultivated are exclusively Sangiovese grosso, used to produce Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino (vintage and Riserva version).
