Donna Olga
Donna Olga was founded in the year 2000 in Montalcino by Olga Peluso, a young Neapolitan woman ,from Tuscany by adoption, who is now recognised as one of the most important women in the wine sector. The company philosophy combines the typical traditions of the territory with technological innovations, capable of creating excellent wines thanks to the optimisation of the wine-wood ratio.
The vineyards of the Donna Olga winery extend for over eleven hectares on the south-west side of the Ilcinese territory. They are cultivated with Sangiovese grosso and enjoy a microclimate, exposure and soil composition that are ideal for producing full-bodied red wines.
After being carefully selected, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and left to macerate at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. Fermentation takes place in Allier oak barrels, while refinement is divided into two phases: first in Slavonian oak barrels and then in the bottle before release.
Among the excellent wines produced by the Donna Olga Winery are the Brunello di Montalcino and the Rosso di Montalcino.
