Diego Conterno
The Diego Conterno-Fantino winery was founded in 1982 in Monteforte D’Alba, when Diego decided to break away from the family business and create his own together with his cousins Claudio and Guido Fantino.
In a very short time, thanks to the experience acquired during thirty years in the vineyards, the originality and the excellent quality of its wines, the Cantina Diego Conterno has managed to establish itself in the wine market. Since 2009 the company has been enriched by the figure of Diego’s son, Stefano Coterno, who carries on the same passion as his father for the territory and its products.
The vineyards extend for about seven hectares in the hills surrounding Monteforte D’alba, a privileged place where it is possible to produce Barolo, and are cultivated with nascetta, nebbiolo, dolcetto and barbabera.
The grapes, after being carefully selected, are left to macerate in the cellar in steel tanks and then refined in small oak barrels for a period that varies according to the variety of grape used.
Among the excellent wines produced by the Diego Conterno- Fantino Winery we can find: Langhe Nascetta, Barbanera d’Alba and Barolo, which we find in the versions La Coste, La Ginestra and Chinato.
