Tenuta Sette Ponti
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Tenuta Sette Ponti located and where does its name come from?
Tenuta Sette Ponti is located in the Valdarno di Sopra, in the province of Arezzo. The name recalls the seven bridges over the Arno river along the road connecting Florence to Arezzo, a geographic reference to the territory where the estate stands.
Who founded Tenuta Sette Ponti?
Architect Alberto Moretti Cuseri acquired the first 55 hectares in the 1950s from Princesses Margherita and Maria Cristina of Savoy-Aosta. The winemaking turning point, however, came in the late 1990s with Antonio Moretti Cuseri, who, coming from the fashion world, brought style, attention to detail and creativity to the cellar, with the first harvest in 1998.
What wines does Tenuta Sette Ponti produce? Which is the most celebrated?
The first vintage, 1998, gave rise to Crognolo, followed in 1999 by Oreno, today the estate's most celebrated wine. Oreno has been ranked by Wine Spectator as the 5th, 10th and 15th best wine in the world in its Top 100 list across different editions.
Is Tenuta Sette Ponti part of a larger group? Does it offer hospitality?
Yes: the Moretti Cuseri family runs five estates across Tuscany and Sicily, including Poggio al Lupo in the Maremma, Orma in Bolgheri and other properties in Sicily. Tenuta Sette Ponti also offers overnight stays and tastings for visitors.
