Tenuta Pinino

Tenuta Pinino is located in the Montosoli area, a natural amphitheater north of Montalcino rich in fossils such as shells and marine remains, ideal for Sangiovese Grosso, where the winery owns about 4 hectares of vineyard. Alongside these are 12 hectares in the Vigne di Canchi area, northeast of Montalcino, with southeastern exposure and highly varied soils of clay, stone and tufa.

Pinino was founded in 1874 by the lawyer Tito Costanti, one of the first intellectuals to study and lay the groundwork for Brunello's fame, and it was among the first wineries registered in the Brunello producers' roll in 1950. After several changes of ownership, from 2003 to 2024 it was run by the Gamon-Hernández couple.

The winery follows a traditional approach: Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino age in medium Slavonian oak casks, in full compliance with the guidelines of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino, the body that protects and promotes the product worldwide.

Yes: in July 2024 Tenuta Pinino was acquired by the Il Borro group, linked to the Ferragamo family, who took over one of Montalcino's historic estates, founded in 1874 by the lawyer Tito Costanti. This change of ownership is part of a broader wave of acquisitions that has involved several of the appellation's historic wineries in recent years.
