Renieri

Renieri is located in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, in the province of Siena, with vineyards planted between 350 and 420 meters of altitude on slopes facing Monte Amiata. The estate covers 128 hectares in total, of which about 30 are under vine, mostly Sangiovese, the variety behind Brunello di Montalcino. The hillside location and vineyard altitude contribute to a fresh aromatic profile, consistent with the style the estate pursues.

Renieri's revival began in 1998, when the Bacci Wines group acquired the property and rebuilt its facilities, vineyards and cellar from the ground up. It is therefore not a traditional family-run estate but a revival project driven by the Bacci family, already active in the wine business, who chose Montalcino to develop a new production hub dedicated to Brunello, starting from a 128-hectare property in the southern part of the municipality.

Renieri's main wine is Brunello di Montalcino, made from pure Sangiovese. The estate also grows a small amount of Syrah, vinified on its own, while Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are used for IGT wines. The cellar, over 1,000 square meters and entirely underground, was designed to use gravity for the gentle movement of the grapes, maintaining optimal aging temperatures.

Yes: a Renieri Brunello di Montalcino received a perfect score of 100/100 from James Suckling, one of the highest possible recognitions for a wine, confirming the quality achieved by the Bacci family's project in Montalcino in a relatively short time given the estate's recent history, revived only in 1998.
