Podere La Vigna

Podere La Vigna is located about seven kilometers from Montalcino, in the heart of the Sienese hills. The winery produces Brunello di Montalcino DOCG following an organic, sustainable philosophy deeply tied to the territory.

The winery grew out of the vision of Adriano Rubegni and Sonia Perugini, who at the end of the 20th century decided to turn a long family farming history into a winemaking project. The first vintage of Brunello di Montalcino under the Podere La Vigna label dates to 1996.

The winery's symbol recalls the 'vite maritata al testucchio', an ancient Celtic-origin growing technique later developed by the Etruscans and Romans, in which the vine leans on a tree as a support. A method already present on the land bought by the family in the 1970s, now nearly vanished but chosen as a tribute to tradition.

Production, about 40,000-50,000 bottles a year, centers on Brunello di Montalcino, aged in oak casks of various sizes for at least two years, followed by a further bottle aging period of about ten months.
