Where is the La Fuga winery located and in what part of Montalcino does it produce?
La Fuga is located in the historic village of Camigliano, southwest of Montalcino, with 9.8 hectares of vineyard that benefit from temperatures moderated by proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea. The soils, rich in Pliocene-era fossils and sediment from the extinct Monte Amiata volcano, give the Sangiovese grown here softness, power, intensity and elegance.
Who founded the La Fuga winery? What group does it belong to?
La Fuga is part of Tenute Folonari, a family that in 1911 bought the historic Ruffino wine house, founded in Pontassieve in 1877. Since 2001 La Fuga has been owned by the Folonari family and is the smallest of the group's Tuscan estates, which also include properties in Chianti and Montepulciano as well as Montalcino.
What wines does La Fuga produce?
Production includes Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and 'Le Due Sorelle', a Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. Aging takes place in large Italian oak casks, in a style aimed at showcasing the expression of Sangiovese grown in the Camigliano area.

Yes: thanks to the Folonari group's international experience, a pioneer of exports to the United States as early as the 1910s with the Ruffino brand, La Fuga wines are today widely distributed across Europe, America and Asia, with a wide range of vintages also available through online retailers.
