Silvio Nardi was the owner of one of the first top-factories of agricultural machines. Founded in 1895, it was known all over the world. He buys Casale del Bosco’s estate in Montalcino, realizing what still was just a hobby for him. Thanks to Silvio Nardi’s ideas, Casale del Bosco wins the price of the most groundbreaking agricultural firm. This primacy is confirmed again the year after. Silvio Nardi is the first “foreigner” to invest in the wine business in Montalcino, which wasn’t but a small unknown town. He gives birth to the first bottle of Brunello from Casale del Bosco’s cellar. The Brunello di Montalcino wine Consortium was still far from being created. Silvio Nardi buys Manachiara’s estate, 40 hectares of vineyards, located near Castelnuovo dell’Abate, 25 km from Casale del Bosco. The valuable CRU of Brunello still takes its name from this vineyard.
