The Patrizia Cencioni winery is family-run, managed by the owner Patrizia and her two daughters Annalisa and Arianna. Thanks to the owner’s long family experience and entrepreneurial skills, that refined feminine touch is added. The vineyards date back to 1989, the year in which the Patrizia Cencioni winery was born, its origins come from an ancient Montalcino winery created in the 1950s by her grandfather, Giuseppe Cencioni, one of the founders of the “Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino”. The land destined for the production of Brunello di Montalcino is all around the cellars and tasting rooms, are located a few kilometers from the Montalcino town, about 350 meters above sea level and overlook of Val d’Orcia area. The main building was built around 1700, later thanks to Patrizia the company was expanded, building the winemaking cellar in 1992, the aging cellar in 2002 and finally in 2018 the part entirely dedicated to bottling, labeling and storage. The original vineyard area in 1989 was about 6 hectares (14,8 acre), in the 2000s the production will be expanded with a further 2 hectares, to arrive today with a total of 9 hectares (22.23 acre) of vineyards totally cultivated with Sangiovese. The total area of the winery today is 50 Ha, in addition to the part destined to the vineyards it also includes 7 Ha of olive groves, for the Extra Virgin Olive Oil production. Thanks to the proximity of the vineyards to the fermentation cellar we are able to do the manual harvest in a short period of time. The Correct fermentation is guaranteed by temperature-controlled of the steel vats. The slow aging of the wines takes place in oak barrels, the process result the elegance and character, already peculiar characteristics of each vintage, stand out also in the bottle.
