Fanti Estate was established in the 19th century in Montalcino, but it was only in the 1970s that Filippo Santi transformed it into the quality winery we know today.
The vineyards of the Fanti estate extend for over fifty hectares approximately, and are divided into eighteen parcels, which differ in terms of microclimate, height above sea level, subsoil composition and exposure. The vineyards are located on the south-west, east, north-west and south sides of Montalcino and are cultivated for 80% with Sangiovese (although there are also Merlot, Syrah, Caubernet Sauvignon, Vermentino, Viogner, Trebbiano, Malvasia and San Colombano).
The winery’s philosophy is based on a deep respect for the environment and biodiversity and on meticulous and controlled agronomic practices. The vineyards are constantly monitored and managed in a completely natural way, without using herbicides and chemical fertilisers.
In the winery, ancient winemaking traditions meet the latest innovative technologies to create temperature- and humidity-controlled environments capable of enhancing the identifying characteristics of each wine and terroir.
The wines produced by the Fanti Winery include: Brunello di Montalcino (vintage, in the “Riserva” or Vallocchio versions), Rosso di Montalcino, Grappa di Brunello, Vin Santo and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
