The Collemattoni winery was established at the end of the 17th century on the southern slopes of Ilcinese territory, a few kilometres away from Sant’Angelo. Now run by Marcello Bucci, Collemattoni follows an eco-sustainable philosophy, achieved through the use of alternative energies such as biomass and photovoltaic panels and a rainwater recovery system.
The vineyards extend for over eleven hectares and are divided into five different parcels: “Vigneto Collemattoni”, “Vigneto Fontelontano”, “Vigneto Sesta”, “Vigneto Cava” and “Vigneto Orcia”. The cultivated varieties are Sangiovese Grosso, Merlot and Canaiolo; the wines produced are “Brunello di Montalcino” (vintage and Riserva), “Rosso di Montalcino”, “Adone Rosso Toscano IGT” and “Rosato Toscano IGT”.
The Cellar is the place where a deep respect for the environment and the winemaking tradition meet new technologies to give life to elegant and refined wines with an authentic flavour. Each stage of the production process, from maceration to ageing in Slavonian oak casks and French oak Tonneaux, is constantly monitored to ensure high quality standards.
Among Collemattoni’s excellences are the “Brunello di Montalcino” and the “Rosso di Montalcino”.
