Located a few kilometres from Montalcino, Castiglione del Bosco is a place of immense beauty, capable of telling stories through its places, colours and products.

The necropolis along the Dragone ditch shows how the area was already inhabited in 600 B.C. and there are many important names that have crossed the estate during their lives.

Amongst artists, nobles, politicians and other illustrious personalities there are also the Biondi – Santi brothers who, with their wine production, initiated Castiglione del Bosco into viticulture and the production of Brunello di Montalcino DOC and DOCG.

In 2003 the estate was purchased by Massimo Ferragamo who, thanks to the restoration of the village and the historic sites and the modernisation of the facilities, has given new life to the Castiglione del Bosco wines.

The vineyards extend for about 62 hectares on the north-west side of Montalcino and are cultivated exclusively with Sangiovese. Divided into two areas that differ in soil composition, aspect and climate, the vineyards are called Capanna and Gauggiole.

Capanna extends for 42 hectares and is where Brunello di Montalcino is made; Gauggiole comprises 20 hectares and here Rosso di Montalcino is produced almost exclusively.

Certified organic since 2016, each wine is the result of careful selection of grapes and meticulous control of every stage of the production process.

Among Castiglione del Bosco’s excellent wines are: Brunello di Montalcino (vintage, in the “Campo di Drago” and “Millecento Riserva” versions) and Rosso di Montalcino Gauggiole.
