Baccinetti farmhouse was founded in 1935 within the purchase by the builder Sor Ugo Baccinetti of three farms located along the “terre rosse” road between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell’Abate (Pian di Moggio), one of the most prestigious areas in the Montalcino territory. In 1999 his nephew Cav. Ing. Giovanni Pennoni decided to leave behind more than 30 years of space telecommunications to devote himself to traditional olive growing and plant the first Sangiovese vines, following the strict rules of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino.
The debut of his wines is dated 2004 for the Rosso di Montalcino (2006 if you consider the sale on the market) and 2009 for the Brunello di Montalcino.
The vineyards of Azienda Agricola Baccinetti extend for about 6 hectares and produce Rosso di Montalcino, Sant’Antimo and Brunello di Montalcino of great excellence.
Located south from Montalcino, the vineyards benefit from a perfect microclimate for the ripening of the grapes, characterised by cool summer nights and a wide range of temperatures between day and night.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature for about 25-30 days, after which the wine is racked into Slavonian oak barrels for ageing where the Rosso di Montalcino remains for one year while the Brunello di Montalcino remains for three years and the following year in the bottle as a preliminary.
The production includes: Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.
